Minus Pluto
Hello summer, and please stay, Mr. Sun! This past week was non-stop recording and mix sessions with Jeremy Sherrer at the helm working with Stephanie Schneiderman, Elbo Finn, and Foreign Orange. Minus Pluto just finished mixing the last song for their new record yesterday. One of their lead singers, Tanner Cundy, has really been a joy to work with and fun to get to know. He's brimming of talent, smarter than all get out, and in my humble opinion, has a voice better than all the artists in his CD case! Here is Minus Pluto's Innocence [mp3]. And this is a new one from The Winebirds, Superdelegate [mp3]. This coming week we'll finish tracking Paper Brain's new record. On the technical front, I finally fired up the Brainstorm, Lynx, and Digi Sync units, striped a time code to tape, and flew tracks to Pro Tools and back for a band needing surgical edits. The units have been turned on and locked at a sample rate of 88.2, but I haven't flown tracks back and forth yet with the new Pro Tools HD3 rig or generated time code. Man, it is night and day. It locks like butter. No latency, no error messages, no jitter, no level differences - nothing like with my old Digi002. I'm in syncro heaven.
