about
Located in the heart of Portland, Oregon in historic Irvington, KBC Records is a production company and recording studio owned by composer/pianist and attorney Shay S. Scott. KBC Records offers both professional 2 inch, 24-track analog tape and digital Pro Tools HD3 Accel recording formats along with rooms full of new and vintage gear and instruments.
The studio is nestled inside an historic, oversized six bedroom colonial home, fully remodeled back to the 1920s, and features a guest wing for lounging musicians and guests. The home was featured in the 2007 historic Irvington Home Tour. The main floor above the studio hosts a newer Steinway Model L grand piano.
The top fourth floor overlooking the neighborhood houses an art studio and Mac Pro production station for those who want to paint between tracking sessions. The studio was designed purely as a creative hideaway with all of the bells and whistles of larger commercial recording studios, but in a much more relaxed setting and at a fraction of the price.
